Take a shopping trip around the world!  North Decatur Presbyterian Church presents its annual Alternative Gift Market on Saturday, December 7th from 10 to 3.  These vendors sell fair trade, environmentally sustainable and reasonably priced holiday gifts that create positive change for refugees or disenfranchised populations. For truly one of a kind gifts, one can purchase items from Africa, Latin America, Asia, South America and the Middle East, as well as local products from emerging entrepreneurs.  Also available will be gift cards in honor of or in memory of loved ones such as goats for the Haiti EcoVillage School, El Refugio legal defense for detainees, or sending a child to Peacemakers Camp.  For a low stress shopping adventure we offer refreshments and a children’s craft corner. Cash, checks and credit cards are accepted by most vendors.  For holiday gift-giving that makes a difference, come see us at 611 Medlock Rd, Decatur GA.

North Decatur Presbyterian Church invites the Medlock neighborhood to our annual Alternative Gift Market, Saturday, Dec. 5, 10 am to 3 pm. Children’s Craft Corner provided to engage your children while you shop. Shop for fair trade*, environmentally sustainable and reasonably priced holiday gifts, including many new items this year. Gifts for sale include olive oil and beautiful carvings from Palestine; hats, scarves, clothing and gifts from Latin America; delicious soup and cookie mixes made in the U.S. supporting people in transition; rugs and other gifts from local refugee and affordable housing initiatives; beautiful beaded jewelry from Rwanda; Haitian baskets and metal work; fair trade coffee, tea, cocoa and chocolate; and beautiful handmade cards from around the world. Holiday Gift Cards benefiting a birthing center in Guatemala and a school for the Eco Villages community in Haiti will also be sold.

Traffic alert: film crews at 611 Medlock

Lanes may close temporarily. Production equipment is visible around the church grounds.
"Miracles from Heaven"--slated for release in March 2016--is filming some scenes at the North Decatur Presbyterian Church. The movie is based on a novel by the same name.

We just want everyone to be aware of variable traffic patterns in and around the intersection, in particular as the International Community School starts its fall semester on Monday August 10.

North Decatur Presbyterian recognized for environmental stewardship

For excellence in worship and education, North Decatur Presbyterian Church in Decatur won the Light Award at the Sixth Annual GIPPY Awards.  
North Decatur Presbyterian Church took a systematic approach to worship and education in 2011. As a result, Creation care became a part of the rhythm and practice of the congregation. For each season, North Decatur Presbyterian encouraged spiritual growth opportunities and took concrete steps to reduce their ecological footprint. . . .
