Keep MANA beautiful day [Apr 26]

from MANA volunteer coordinator Emily Mann:

Hi Neighbors! MANA has signed up for this year's "Keep Dekalb Beautiful Neighborhood Cleanup Day" which takes place Saturday, April 26 from 9AM to 1 PM. We'd love to have more folks participate this year! My fam did curb & sign cleaning here on Willivee Place last year and it was pretty amazing what a big difference a few hours made.

If we all share ideas for areas in the neighborhood that need some extra TLC we can round up small groups to tackle some of the bigger stuff together. So please post ideas here and we'll help coordinate.

The County provides free t-shirts and all the necessary cleanup materials; MANA provides refreshments & coffee at ICS before everyone heads out to their respective projects.

Service opportunities [Jan 20]

We have two opportunities to give back right here in the neighborhood:

1) From CSNP president, Chris Beck:  Join us on MLK Day from 1-3:30pm for volunteer day at the Clyde Shepherd Nature Preserve. We will be doing trail maintenance, removing English ivy, and planting trees.

In case we have a big group, please bring gloves and other hand tools. A few extra wheel barrows would help too.

2) From Lisa Crowder: Street clean-up. See the Medlock Park Neighbors Facebook page for details, but this is an informal call to pick up litter you see as you walk around the neighborhood, particularly on this day.

If you can't make either of these events, mark your schedule for April and MANA's annual Earth Day cleanup.

April 30: Annual MANA Community Spring Clean-up

Saturday, April 30th, 9am to 1pm
Meet at Medlock Elementary for Bagels/Coffee and Join Project Teams

It is always more fun to clean with a team! Please come out Saturday April 30th at 9am to take to our streets and help make our community a prettier and safer place to live. In our past events, we've picked up litter from public areas around the school and park, cleaned storm drains, cleared sidewalks of muddied pine straw, and trimmed trees from blocking stop signs, among other tasks.

Come out and bring the whole family and just stay as long as you can. Just wear comfortable clothes you won't mind getting a little dirty in and your own rake or shovel and gloves is always great, if you have those. No experience required!

Bagels and coffee will be provided at the start of the day for our volunteers, Bring your own reusable mug, if you have one!
